During his time running that business, Campbell experienced firsthand the challenges of transitioning from traditional accounting software to cloud-based solutions like Xero. Recognising the lack of built-in backup options and the difficulty of extracting crucial data, Campbell saw an opportunity to fill this gap.
Driven by the need to protect his own business data, Campbell invested in developing a minimum viable product (MVP) for Xero backups. The positive response from his accountant, who eagerly inquired about signing up, validated the market need for such a solution.
From there, ControlC evolved into a commercially available product, initially serving local businesses and then expanding to a global customer base. In 2015, ControlC officially launched, and in 2017, it became a Certified Xero App Partner, solidifying its position as a trusted solution in the Xero ecosystem, with 5 star reviews.
